As a pharmacy Carelia served locals for 70 years before it was transformed to a restaurant by Asta Nurmilaukas in 1996.
Unique atmoshere of Restaurant Carelia is a charming combination of ambience from the past, liveliness of a French brasserie as well as modern and urban feel. It has been said that a visit to Carelia feels like visiting old Vyborg, Paris and Helsinki, all at the same time.

Restaurant Kuu, or “the Moon” in english, was founded in 1966 with an eye above the clouds. Since the beginning the atmosphere has been described as reminiscent of a continental bistro. Many of our neighbourhood clientele are second generation regulars and we look forward to welcoming the third generation to Kuu as well.
Located on the quiet corner of Töölönkatu and Kivelänkatu opposite a calm green park, Restaurant Kuu is a place easily reached from the city center. The harmoniously simple interior gives a relaxed comfortable feel. Our year round glass walled terrace is favoured by those who enjoy being close to nature.
Our kitchen offers a range of Finnish classics and Scandinavian dishes with a modern touch. Chef Lukas Hemnell presents the best ingredients available prepared to accentuate their natural flavors served with an uncomplicated aesthetic balance. Kuu’s wine list is extensive; some wines are found from our wide web of suppliers, though most wines are our own import allowing us to keep prices down. Pure sublime flavors, and value for money is our goal.

KuuKuu has been operating in Etu-Töölö, at the corner of Museokatu and Minervankatu since 1990. At the same premises there has been a butchers and Valio’s ice cream parlour.
KuuKuu is an informal and relaxed restaurant with a dining room and a bar. In the summer there is also a sunny and pleasant terrace. The newly renovated restaurant has about 40 seats, and 16 seats at the bar. Food can also be served at the bar. KuuKuu also houses two private dining rooms, one of which can accommodate16 persons and the other 10 persons.
The menu offers a generous selection of home made classic dishes, to suite every taste. We offer a modern and progressive style of cuisine, that favors finnish quality ingredients. Our Head chef, Christian Sippel is always searching for new, interesting and good-valued raw materials, which is reflected in our menu and pricing.
Our classic menu always offers our legendary veal liver, salmon soup and meatballs, as well as other home cooked comfort foods, that we serve with professional pride. Our kitchen is open late every day (Mon-Thu until 23.00, Fri – Sat until 24.00, Sun until 21.00).
Lunch is served Mon-Fri 11-16. Tasty home dishes, soups and salads also to go.

The historic pharmacy Swan served locals for over a hundred years in the corner of Lapinlahdenkatu and Eerikinkatu. After carefully renovating around the irreplaceable jugend interior, the pharmacy has now been turned into a wine bar.
Now, finally, Apotek is open. Apotek’s head chef offers a selection of entrées coupled with diverse small bites complementing the wine list – carefully selected cheese, charcuterie, patês, not to forget various vegetarian dishes. You can order small dishes throughout the night or compile a longer set menu. The dishes can easily be shared with the whole table should you feel like it.
Apotek’s wine selection comprises of carefully selected quality wines mainly from European grower-producers. The selection focuses on true artisan wines made by independent family-owned wineries. Most of the producers farm their grapes organically. Apotek’s wine list by the bottle contains over 100 different articles.
